Charities and tummies alike will swell up this weekend when area BBQ teams set up in Greeley City Park for the 25th Annual Greeley Smoke Off Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th. The event is a chance to sample BBQ from some of the best BBQ’ers in the region, all in the competition, which boasts over $3,000 in BBQ team prizes, and to show your appreciation by donating to those cookers’ listed charities.
Organizers say the event has raised nearly $200,000 for area charities since its inception. Dinner and start time is at 5:00 Friday evening with live music by Scipio bottoms from 5:00-8:00, then from 8:00 to midnight, its Trevor Holman and the Haymakers.
Events on Saturday begin at noon with music through the afternoon by Wilsons DJ Service. All kinds of kids games, inflatables and concessions will be on tap throughout the afternoon. Organizers encourage everyone to bring lawn chairs, and coolers are welcome, but, no glass bottles please. Come and sample some of the best BBQ in the country Friday and Saturday at the 25th Annual Greely Smoke Off.
