Sea Life Kansas City’s newest special addition is in need of a special name. The Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle, the most critically endangered sea turtle species, flew across the country over 1,000 miles to its new forever home at Sea Life Kansas City in August and is Missouri’s only permanent resident Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle. The aquarium is looking to the community for suggestions that combine the special sea turtle with the community. Guests can spot the new sea turtle in the sea turtle rescue center exhibit, and also see more turtles in the ocean tunnel, Lou and Gertrude, who are rescued green sea turtles who also live at the aquarium.
If you would like to submit a name for the new Kemp’s Ridley turtle, send an email to “Sea Life Kansas City at sealifeus.com”. Think hard and think quick. The deadline for submitting names is Wednesday, september 17th.
