If you didn’t see Franklin County Undersheriff Keil Lasswell for a while, there’s a good reason. Lasswell recently returned from a 10 week trip to Quantico, Virginia to participate in the FBI National Academy, one of the most prestigious leadership programs for law enforcement, with a massive waiting list. Just being accepted is a major achievement as only 1% of officers are ever accepted. He was joined by 250 law enforcement officers representing 49 states and 22 different countries. Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards:

Laswell says it was eye-opening to work alongside officers who countries’ rules and regulations differ so much from our own. Even though it’s called the FBI National Academy, it’s not a training to join the FBI. Rather, it’s an opportunity for local, state and some federal officers to professionally and personally grow.
