On August 14th, the nurse contracted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s office, Nancy Timothy was traveling to the jail to ensure medications were ordered properly for a patient who arrived overnight. Nurse Timothy was not scheduled for a shift, but responded for an extra visit anyway to make sure the medical needs of the inmate were met. While driving, nurse Timothy came upon the scene of an accident that just occurred, where a semi-truck was on fire. First responders had not arrived yet. Nurse Timothy stopped to provide medical aid to someone involved in the accident who suffered burns, and stayed with the patient until EMS arrived on the scene.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says they are grateful for nurse Timothy’s dedication to the health of this community, and her willingness to “go the extra mile” to care for others.
Nurse timothy was awarded the Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. Critical Thinking Award for her actions at the crash scene. Well deserved. Thank you nurse Timothy!
