The Ottawa Middle School tries hard to have all students feel included and important at the school. The ‘A’ Team. It’s an all inclusive student service club comprised of 7th and eighth graders who embody leadership, school spirit and a passion for community service. At the recent USD 290 School Board Meeting, several of the ‘A’ teamers spoke about their experience. One of those was Poppy McGuire:
School Counselor Matt Scherman says there are 57 members of the ‘A’ Team who act as role models and organizers for school pride. They also were part of principal interviews, offering valuable student perspectives.
