Early yesterday morning, first responders were called to the Main Street railroad crossing in Wellsville on a report that a train had hit a pedestrian. The first officer on scene, a Wellsville police officer found a severely injured adult man in the roadway. The Wellsville Fire Department and Franklin County EMS arrived shortly after and administered medical care to the man. He was transported to an area hospital for further treatment of his injuries.
The Franklin County Crash Team also responded to the scene to conduct an official investigation. The name of the person injured was not released, and the circumstances surrounding how it happened also not released, pending the formal investigation into the incident.
