Over a decade ago, the Franklin County and the City of Ottawa partnered to create a community broadband network; however, that service will be discontinued in December. You can’t run a government without internet these days.
The Board of Commissioners approved a new contract with AT&T, however, it comes with a hefty price increase. Technology Director Dustin Coureton explained:
Other internet companies could not promise service that would not be subject to periods of buffering and delays.
