An accident in Miami County left one person severely injured and another deceased. Yesterday morning, October 2nd, emergency crews responded to an injury accident in the area of 231st Street and Waverly Road. Preliminary investigations shows that a Chevy Cruze, driven by an adult male, was traveling south on Waverly Road approaching 231st Street and at the same time a Ram 1500, also driven by an adult male, was traveling east on 231st, approaching Waverly. The Ram failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the passenger side of the Cruze, forcing it off the roadway, where it hit a tree. The Ram also left the road and rolled.
The Miami County Sheriff’s office says both drivers were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Tragically, the driver of the Cruze died at the hospital, despite lifesaving efforts by first responders, EMS personnel and hospital staff.
