A busy year so far for Prairie Paws Animal Shelter. They have helped a record 6,229 pets this year so far. Those numbers includes 886 pets sheltered in Ottawa alone. Adoptions are up also, with 602 animals being adapted from the Ottawa location. They have also used the trap neuter and release program on 269 cats, spayed or neutered 782 pets and provided pet vaccinations and identification micro chips, at no charge, for 256 pets. Right now the shelter in ottawa has 67 animals in it’s care.
Director Vanessa Cowie says they want to finish the year strong, and in order to do that, they need donations. If you would like to help them in accomplishing their mission statement of providing passionate care for animals in need, consider making a donation. You can do so at their website, “prairie paws.org, or give the shelter a call and they would be happy to let you know what they need, and it’s not always money.
