Nearly all of us will be impacted by cancer at some point in our lives, whether getting the diagnosis ourselves, or supporting family and friends through treatment. As cancer chases heart disease for the leading cause of death of Kansans, more than 5,500 Kansans die from cancer each year. In March of 2023, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced the release of the largest and most comprehensive cancer prevention and control plan in state history.
We all know someone who has been affected by cancer. Maybe it was your grandparents, your parents, your siblings, your spouse, maybe.. even your children, maybe you. You can support the Franklin County Cancer Foundation. Call KOFO tomorrow, October 24th, during the Cancer Telethon, make a donation, request a song, any song, we’ll play it. Not only will you get to hear your song, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you have helped someone in Franklin County suffering from cancer. Tomorrow….you pay it, we’ll play it!
