The Miami County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Friday from woman who reported she had been battered inside her home in the area of 239th and Spoon Creek Road, by a male who had fled the scene. Due to the close proximity to Franklin County, assistance was requested from the Franklin County Sheriff’s office to check their side of the county line. Just after 9:00 in the morning, Franklin County Deputies located the suspect vehicle and detained the male suspect without incident. After being taken into custody, the male was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Franklin County.

While at the hospital, the suspect became combative with Miami County deputies. Following medical clearance, the wrap, a device used to safely restrain an individual during transportation, was utilized to safely transport the suspect to the Miami County jail. Forty Seven year-old Thomas Thompson, of Olathe was booked on charges of aggravated burglary, domestic battery, criminal damage to property, criminal trespassing and driving on a revoked license.
