An accident in Greely early yesterday morning, October 29th, has left a community grieving. Shortly before 6:00, units from Anderson County EMS, Garnett Rescue, Greeley Fire Department, and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian incident within the city of Greeley. First responders found a Town and Country Disposal driver pinned by his own truck. The accident happened when the man stopped and got out to pick up some trash, thinking the truck was in park, but it was still moving. He attempted to stop the truck, but was pinned.

It was determined that the man was in critical condition. An air ambulance was requested; however, it was unable to respond due to foggy conditions. Given the severity of the patient’s condition, Anderson County EMS initiated emergency transport to Overland Park Regional Medical Center Level II Trauma Center. Unfortunately, 64-year-old Kenneth Teter, of Princeton was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later.
