I’t fall and you are out traveling, or hiking, hunting or with the family on one of the trails, enjoying the nice cool fall weather. You don’t know exactly where you are, and what if there is an emergency and you need help? How will help reach you if you don’t know where you are or in a situation where you don’t think you can call? First, there are several ways to reach help. You can call or utilize text to 911 to get help. But, if you don’t know where you are, there is “What Three Words.” Franklin County Emergency Communications Director, Sara Peffley, explains:

It’s simple to use. First download the app. Once you open it, the GPS will locate you on a map. Tap the arrow and the three words for your location will display at the top of the screen. Read the three words to dispatch and they will track you to within 10 feet of your location. Give it a shot–it is pretty amazing.
