The FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament will be held in the United States next year and there will be multiple games played in Kansas City. While we don’t know the teams yet, we know there will be potentially hundreds of thousands of people here from all over the world. That means we, as in the City of Ottawa have to be ready for an influx of tourists. The Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce is holding a community kickoff event tonight at the auditorium. From tourism and business opportunities to cultural readiness and community engagement, this interactive session will feature local experts and partners sharing key insights on how Franklin County can prepare to welcome visitors, boost local business, and create memorable experiences during this once-in-a-lifetime summer.

The meeting will cover visitor readiness, making Franklin County visitor friendly, cultural awareness, hospitality, safety and security, pop up events including exhibitions and clinics from teams involved in the World Cup, and how Franklin County can take advantage of tourism and marketing opportunities.

The community kickoff will be held this evening, November 12th, at 5:30 at the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium.
