In the election on November 4th, Ottawa voters overwhelming approved the continuation of a one cent sales tax. That tax was officially approved by the Ottawa City Commission last week. City Attorney Blaine Finch on what the tax will do:
The intent of the tax was very well outlined on the ballot and Finch says no changes have been made to the intentions for the revenue collected. The new tax will go into effect the day after the old one expires, July 1st of 2026.
