Kansas University basketball has a long and storied history. The inventor of basketball was their first coach, and they play in Allen Fieldhouse, named after legendary Coach Phog Allen. A local author and Ottawa High School Graduate, has released a new book. In, “Stories From the Phog: Forty Years of College Basketball, Chelan David describes the history of KU’s Allen Fieldhouse.
The book is a great read for new and old fans alike, whether you’ve been watching the team for the first time or for 50 years. Interviews with all living KU Coaches and stories from legendary coaches relatives. You can experience the magic of Allen Fieldhouse through the eyes of players, famed announcers, and one of its original architects. David will be at the Ottawa Library this evening , November 19th, at 6:30 for a book signing and books will be available for purchase.
