The deer rut is not over, but the peak of the rut has passed. November was the peak month. In Franklin County alone in November, there were 60 reported car deer collision resulting in thousands of dollars in property damage and several injuries. This is an increase from 2024, which saw 54 such collisions.
Don’t think you’re safe now from hitting a deer, the rut is still on and collision with deer are common in Franklin County every month of the year. Franklin County Sheriff, Jeff Richards with a couple reminders:
