If you know anything about Osawatomie, you know they celebrate their heroes., and now there is a new picture hanging in the hallway at Osawatomie High School with two of those sports heroes together.
Jennifer Freeman, daughter of the late Osawatomie High football coach Bill Freeman, presented a huge picture of Bill with Osawatomie Trojans legendary quarterback Lynn Dickey to current football coach Eddie Minor recently. Bill Freeman, a member of the inaugural Osawatomie Hall of Fame Class of 2025, coached the Trojans football team to undefeated state championships in 1966 and 1973. Lynn Dickey is another member of the first class inducted into the Osawatomie Hall of Fame. He was a quarterback on the 1966 state title team and went on to play collegiate football at Kansas State University. He played professional football with the Houston Oilers and the Green Bay Packers.
Freeman also announced she is bringing back the Freeman Family Scholarship Program and purchased a blocking sled for the football program.
