Eugene “Gene” Michael Hohn, 74, of Carbondale, Kansas died Monday, December 1, 2025 in his home.

He was born April 30, 1951 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Henry Francis Hohn and Gladys Irene (Stena) Hohn.  He attended Texas A&M and earned an Associate’s Degree in Heavy Machinery Operation.

Gene loved his job as an over the road truck driver.  After retirement, he owned and operated an excavation business.  He was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka, Kansas.  Wherever he went, Gene was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Gladys Hohn; two brothers, Kenneth Francis Hohn and Henry Joseph Hohn; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Force; and his beloved son, Christian Bryan.

He is survived by two brothers, Philip Thomas Hohn of Carbondale, KS and John Andrew Hohn of Williamstown, KS; three grandchildren, Chloe Hohn, Christian (CJ) Hohn, and Chanelle Hohn of Texas; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Bracken St, Scranton, KS 66537.  Interment will follow at Overbrook Cemetery.  To celebrate Gene’s life, a rosary will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a visitation after from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 730 Western Heights Dr, Overbrook, KS 66524.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
