Do you live in Miami County and need a Christmas tree? Want a real one? Maybe take the family out and cut it yourself? Well, before one of your kids decides to chop down the pine tree in your yard, head on over to Pinestead Grove farm in Louisburg. The tradition of picking out a tree was very evident recently at the farm as families lined the road to get into the Christmas tree farm. You might know the farm as D&G tree farm. After owner Doug Eble passed away last year, the family wanted to keep the tree farm going.
The farm has over 5,000 trees to choose from. Scotch pines, frasier and balsam firs, a gift shop and more. It’s a ‘cut your own’ experience with tractor rides, pictures and Santa Clause on hand. They have all sizes from table top trees to 8 footers, all home grown, with the oversight of Kansas State University Forestry program. If you haven’t done it before, start a new family tradition and take the family out to Pinestead groves farm in Louisburg.
