It’s amazing what a young perspective can do for an older person. A very special group of students at USD 290 took on an unusual but rewarding task. Students in Kristin Allen’s class arranged to be drivers for the meals on wheels program, delivering meals to shut-ins and the elderly in Franklin County. What started as a nervous venture, turned out a learning and beloved adventure. Students Graeden Griffin and Tripp Nicols on their experience:
The people receiving meals really took to the students, that was verified by Board Member Diedre Altic who took over their route last summer. She says the clients spoke very favorably of them and told her they really missed them.
