We had a blast of cold weather last night and this morning, but sofar cold snaps have been short-lived; but you have to know cold weather is bound to set in at some point. People are using their furnaces and fireplaces more and more. With that comes the possibility of the silent killer–carbon monoxide– building up in your home. The Ottawa Fire Department will provide you with both smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector, free of charge. Just give them a call and schedule a time for them to come out and install them in the proper places in your home.
