A Kansas CBD shop owner has sued Attorney General Chris Kobach and KBI Director Tony Mattivi over the state wide marijuana enforcement operation conducted by the KBI and Attorney General’s office recently. Now, owners of those businesses raided are fighting back with lawsuits.

In one of those suits, Plaintiff Mike Ballinger says state agents seized large amounts of cash and products that he says are legally sold in Kansas, without any notification or relief, causing shops, he says, like his to shut down. Ballinger’s lawsuit seeks the return of what the KBI seized and an injunction to halt future raids until the laws are clarified.

The KBI says it was authorized for every raid conducted while the AG’s office says every seized item being sold was a brazen violation the of law.
