The City of Ottawa received an update from Lightfield Energy at this week’s meet and had some good news. The company, despite some delays, still plans on constructing a data center at Proximity Park, it might just take a while. Lightfield representative, Andy Talburt, spoke with commissioners about not only building a power plant on site, but working with the city to build a water treatment plant also:
Commissioners agreed to extend the current contract one month to have time to to think about the proposal. Most seemed to be in favor. Either way, Lightfield will ask for a 6 month extension to work out some other concerns they have, but Talbert reiterated their commitment to the project.
