The Kansas Corporation Commission has announced two public hearings on Evergy’s application for approval to build a 133-mile transmission line in southern Kansas. Evergy wants to install a 345 kilovolt transmission line through western Sedgwick, Sumner, Cowley and Chautauqua counties. It would run between the Buffalo Flats substation near Garden Plain to the Delaware Substation near Delaware, Oklahoma.

The company and KCC will host two public hearings about the proposed line. The first hearing will take place on Wednesday, January 7th at Sedan High School in Sedan, starting with an open house from 3:30 to 6:00, Followed by a public hearing. The second will take place from 3:30 to 6:00 at the Richardson Performing Arts Center at Southwestern College in Winfield. It will follow the same format.
