With the word last week that the Kansas City Chiefs are making the move away from Missouri and moving to Kansas, many Kansas legislators were caught off guard a bit. Fifty-ninth District Representative Rebecca Schmoe says she initially voted “no” on the star bonds, but since the resolution passed, she sees plenty of opportunities awaiting Kansas.
She adds that Ottawa could see some residual economic affects from having the Chief’s headquarters and training facility in Olathe.
