Deborah Trobaugh (Hale), 73, of Baldwin City, Kansas passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at 10:12 a.m. with family surrounding her. 

Debbie was born on July 13, 1952 to Harlan and Johnetta Hale, who preceded her in death, in Topeka, Kansas.  They later moved to Manhattan, Kansas where Debbie was raised with her brother Steve and sister Lisa.  She graduated from Manhattan High School with the class of 1970.  She then went on to attend Kansas State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. 

On August 27, 1977, Debbie was united in marriage to Richard Trobaugh in Manhattan, Kansas.  They spent 48 years of loving marriage with one another. 

Debbie has been a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, spouse, and friend.  She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard Trobaugh; daughter, Brianna Lathrom; son, Ryan Trobaugh; 5 grandchildren; her doggy Bella; brother Steve Hale; and sister, Lisa Meador.

Debbie has been a faithful member of the Church of the King in Olathe for many years, always serving where needed.  She has been dearly loved by her church family.  Debbie has had a deep, abiding love for the Lord.  She always put her family and others before herself.

Her faithfulness, trust, and love for the Lord was visible until the very end.  These things she will leave behind as a legacy to her family and friends. 

Debbie will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her sweet spirit. 

A service to celebrate Debbie’s life will be held January 17, 2026 at Church of the King, 728 North Stevenson St, Olathe, Kansas 66061 at 3:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Church of the King or the American Diabetes Association.
