The Franklin County Farm Bureau Annual Legislative Dinner and Farm Tour was held Tuesday night, September 12th, at Aunt B’s Sunflower Farm. The menu for the event was very unique and every dish had a local twist. The entrees were beef brisket and pork skewers featuring beef from Wray Cattle Company and pork from Flory Farms. The sides and salads included locally grown roasted vegetables, a grain bowl made from locally produced grains, and watermelon salsa with produce from Hidden Mesa Farm, Thompson Farm and Samyn Farm. The butter for the dinner rolls was provided in honor of Joyce Wasmund of Wasmund Dairy Farm and finally, the dessert, blackberry cobbler, featuring berries from Barton’s Berry Patch, with the whipped cream provided by Wasmund Dairy Farm. Nearly all the food coming from local farmers, ranchers, and producers.
After a tour of Aunt B’s Sunflower Farm, dinner was served and then an Open Forum was held to discuss key issues for the 2023 Legislative Session.
