KANSAS CITY — For the Kansas City District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, no news is very good news. At Sunday night’s news briefing, the district officials said there were no new emergencies to report and that although levees were very saturated, their status wasn’t worsening. The district continues aerial reconnisance flights both above and below Kansas City. Also during the briefing, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said crews continue pumping water from inside a temporary levee built around the flooded Fort Calhoun nuclear power plant in Nebraska.
