OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission ratified a deal with the Underwood family Wednesday concerning the city’s attempt to annex their property at the northwest corner of K-68 and I-35. City attorney Bob Bezek gave the commissioners the details of his negotiations with the family. Key parts of the deal include an agreement that the city would annex the property, but would wait at least three years before doing so. If the property is sold before then, the city has the option to annex it, he said.. Commissioners also agreed to delay another annexation south of the city to allow Bezek time to work out another deal with another owner.
