A Kansas City firefighter-paramedic has died after being stabbed by a patient during a medical transport early Sunday morning, April 27th. City officials announced 29-year-old firefighter-paramedic Graham Hoffman, was critically injured around 1:00 a.m. while transporting a patient to Saint Luke’s Hospital on Barry Road. Shanetta Bossell faces several charges, including first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Hoffman was riding with her in an ambulance after responding to a report of a woman with a large laceration to her hand was reported. During the ride, Bossell rose up and stabbed Hoffman in the chest, piercing his heart, despite life saving efforts by his partner and doctors and nurses at a North Kansas City Hospital. Firefighter Hoffman was a member of the department for three years and was described by his co-workers as a dedicated firefighter and a leader on and off the job. Details for Hoffman’s funeral service will be provided in the coming days.
