With all the rain we have had the past few days and with more rain in the forecast the next several days, you might be wondering about the rise and fall of the Marais Des Cygnes river. Well, the infamous questions are already being posted on facebook. How high is it? How high will it get? Will they have to shut the flood gates? What about the car show…uh, never mind on that one. Anyway, Franklin County Emergency Management Director, Tom Winter, says there are no worries yet:
He also suggested that everyone check to make sure their sump pump is in good working order, just in case our rainfall increases and the runoff wants to find your basement.
