Many people are airing their concerns with city government in Ottawa and with the school district on social media. Some are calling for change. One of the ways to implement that change is through elections. But wait, you say, this isn’t an election year. Ahhh but it is for city commissioners and school board members. Three city commission seats are open in Ottawa, as well as three seats on the USD 290 School Board. West Franklin USD 287, Central Heights USD 288, and Wellsville USD 289 all have three spots up for election. Lane with three council members open, Pomona with two as well as mayor…Princeton and Rantoul with 5 spots on the council open, Richmond with 21, and Wellsville and Williamsburg with three. Again the deadline to file is June 2nd.
