Last Week was National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. A week dedicated to promoting and uplifting those on the other end of the line when we call 911. Director of Emergency Communications in Franklin County, Sara Peffley, describes the job:
Countless lives are saved everyday thanks to the calm demeanor of dispatchers. Franklin County has two dispatchers on duty 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Peffley says most like it because they never know what type of call is going to come in and they have to be ready to help, whether it be a minor incident or one that requires several agencies to be involved. If you know or see a dispatcher, give them a big thank you!
