It may seem like a long way away, but there is a pretty important election coming up in November. Franklin County Clerk Janet Paddock is encouraging people to check their voter registration to make sure they are properly registered to vote:
She also noted that if you are filing to be a candidate in the upcoming election, you must be a registered voter. The deadline to register to vote in the primary is July 15th, but, why wait? If you plan to file for office, that deadline is June 2nd. The elections this year will be for city commissions and school board positions. There are quite a few positions open across Franklin County. Primaries will be held August 5th and the general election on November 4th.
