The 2025 Street Maintenance Plan was presented to the Ottawa City Commission at Wednesday’s meeting, April 30th. A survey was done last year on all roads except the brick streets. Public Works Director DJ Welsh presented the findings and says the plan is to start with the roads in greatest need. He spoke about what the lifespan of a new road should be:
He added that two priorities are 7th Street from Cherry to Cedar and 14th Street from Main to Cedar, which will receive a mill and overlay this year. Also 15% of Ottawa Streets need complete reconstruction.
