Did you know, people who are convicted in Kansas of crimes requiring them to register as a drug, violent, or sex offender must do so with the sheriff of the county they live, work and go to school in?
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says they are working hard to update and improve the offender registration operations at the sheriff’s office, and will soon have some pretty exciting news to help community members feel better informed and secure. They have made a slight change in the available offender registration hours, to allow the Offender Registration Deputy the time to ensure compliance from each offender and make sure each record is updated timely.
Beginning May 1st, the office will be closed on Monday. It will be available Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 to noon and from 1:00 to 4:00. Fridays will be by appointment only. If you have any questions about offenders living in your area, check out the KBI website and follow the links. The KBI Offender Registration website accounts for more than 24,600 offenders across the state.
