The 10th annual Patriotic Banner Celebration is back on thanks to some community members that stepped up to make it happen. The Garnett Remembers Patriotic Banner Project Event will be held ,May 22nd on the Anderson County Courthouse Lawn. Veterans will share stories, there will be musical entertainment and a keynote speaker, to be announced at a later date.
This is a public event and everyone is encouraged to come early and grab some food from one of Garnett’s restaurants or food trucks in the area. Be sure to bring lawn chairs. The City of Garnett will provide event programs and bottled water will be available. The Garnett Farmer’s Market will also be open that day. The Garnett Remembers event kicks off the Memorial Day weekend, which includes a special service at the cemetery on Monday, May 26th and a special ceremony at the Garnett VFW at 10:00 that morning.
