Today is a big day for a group of Ottawa High School students. They were the winners of the Franklin County Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. The group, consisting of Austin Wooten, Jacob Lynnes, Collin Harris, Layton Thompson and Wesley Gamberel are pitching their product at the State Entrepreneurship Challenge in Manhattan. The product they have designed is called protein bombs, which are edible snacks packed with protein.

The Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge is sponsored by Network Kansas, Kansas State University Research & Extension, and Kansas State University Center for the Advancement of Entrepreneurship to promote entrepreneurship and small business development in Kansas. There is over $70,000 in cash prizes up for grabs at the state competition, where winners of local challenges all meet. Competitors will show their product, along with a business plan and boardroom presentation to a panel of judges made up of state business leaders. Good luck today!
