The City of Ottawa held a Street Rehabilitation Overview at Wednesday’s meeting, April 16th. Officials ranked the streets in colors and numbers, with green being roads with the least issues and red being roads that are in need of major repair, such as full reconstruction. Public Works Director DJ Welsh spoke about the street assessment survey done last year by an outside company, and the streets scheduled for mill and overlay in 2025:
Welsh says the survey shows that about 15%t of Ottawa’s streets are in need of complete reconstruction. The brick streets in town were not part of the survey. Welsh says they recognize that many of those are in need of repair.
