The City of Ottawa has been selected as one of two cities in Kansas to be part of the Fox 4 Zip Trips. Crews will be in town from Fox 4 to showcase various parts of town to entice people to come visit. Along with that comes the opportunity to have several commercials on the television station. However, that does come with a cost. Former Ottawa Community Development Director and Ottawa Main Street Board Member, Wendy Lee, says Main Street is asking the county and the city for help in getting the advertisement deal that could reach over $23,000:
The videos can be used by the City of Ottawa for continued commercial opportunities and show the city in a positive light. Commissioners will review the proposal and make a decision at next week’s meeting. Main Street Director Sarah Stauffer is presenting the proposal to Franklin County Commission at their meeting on Wednesday, May 21st.
