The 10th Annual Garnett Remembers Celebration of service will take place this evening, May 22 at 6:00, near the Veterans Memorial on the Anderson County Courthouse Lawn. The celebration includes short stories spoken by local veterans, musical tributes and reading of the names of those featured on the banners. There will be special music and United States Flags will be on display.

Everyone is invited to the event. Lawn chairs are encouraged. Local restaurants and some outdoor venues and food trucks, along with the Garnett Farmers’ Market will be providing food to go so event attendees can enjoy their dinner on the Courthouse lawn. The Osawatomie Community Band will continue to play in concert after the conclusion of the ceremony. Complimentary programs, small us flags for waving and bottled water will be provided to attendees by citizen volunteers.
