If you have multiple parking tickets in Lawrence, they are getting ready to crack down on you. The city will begin putting parking boots on cars, owned by people with three or more unpaid parking tickets. The tickets must be over 60 days old, but only apply to tickets that were issued on or after January first of this year. Once a car has been booted, the owner has 48 hours to pay their overdue fees or the vehicle may be impounded. Once paid, there is a 24-hour call line that owners can contact to have the boot removed.
By the way, attempting to drive with the boot on the tire can, and will cause serious damage to your vehicle. Pay your tickets and play it safe.
