The USD 290 Board of Education recognized individual students from each school by presenting them with the “Rising Cyclone” award. The award for Sunflower Elementary went to Audrey Morsett. Sunflower Principal, Andi Stipe, presented the award saying the school leadership team was adamant about Audrey receiving the award, calling her a beacon of light at the school:
Congratulations Audrey! The award recognizes those students who despite challenges against them, push forward and strive to be better and kind to everyone they meet. We’ll feature more Rising Cyclones soon.
