Homelessness in the ottawa area is on the increase. At the same time, Ottawa and the surrounding area has a housing shortage. So, if someone that is currently unhoused is able to get into a home, there may not be one available to them. Franklin County Coalition to End Homelessness Director, Brett Staneslow, says lower priced rentals are important:
