You may have recently received a letter from the City of Ottawa outlining the latest rate increase for electricity and water. It’s something that was approved by city leaders in 2023…a yearly increase of about 5% for electric and 6% for water. City Commissioners were hearing a review of the proposed 2026 Budget for the electric utility. Several major projects are upcoming in the next couple years, including replacing the aging electric distribution towers that supply power to the north side of Ottawa.
