Lightfield Energy, who purchased all of Proximity Park to put in a massive data center has asked the City of Ottawa for an extension of their Due Diligence Period. Lightfield Energy representative, Andy Talbert, explained it was because of something in Kansas called “Behind the Meter”, implemented by the State Legislature:

A Due Diligence Period is the amount of time a purchaser has to get inspections and other questions answered about the suitability of the property. Talbert added that the Lightfield Project is an innovative project and remains on track, and all hurdles presented by the state of Kansas can be taken care of. The Commission agreed to the extension.
