Keep Friday night open. A big event coming to the Ottawa Memorial Auditorium. They will host a special one night only showing of the movie “Sod and Stubble.” The movie was shot right here in Kansas and is based on the Kansas pioneer story of the same name. It tells the true tale of Henry and Rosie Ise, who braved the trials of homesteading in 1870’s Osborne County. What began as a family memoir became a literary classic and now, an unforgettable film.

It was shot in Kansas and features a star-studded cast, including Barry Corbin, Bailey Chase, Mary McDonough, Buck Taylor, and more. This really is a must see film, particularly if you are a history buff, film lover, and proud Kansan. Don’t miss this moving story of resilience, family, and the Kansas spirit brought to life on the big screen, Friday night at 7 at the OMA. For tickets, call the auditorium or follow the link on KOFO’s Facebook page.
