With final passage of the Budget Reconciliation Bill, Kansas Corn Growers Association President, J.D. Hanna, noted several beneficial provisions in the bill which have been advocated for by the Kansas and National Corn Growers Associations. He says it includes a permanent extension of the estate tax exemptions and extended the clean fuel production tax credit, ensuring U.S. feedstocks would be prioritized, adding that the bill gives corn growers more certainty as they plan for the future on Kansas farms, and he thanked Kansas Representatives Mann, Estes and Schmidt as well as Senators Marshall and Moran for their support.
National Corn Growers Association President, Kenneth Hartman, Jr. Says the legislation contains several important and long standing priorities for corn growers, including the extension of key tax provisions and investments in commodity and trade promotion programs. Corn growers have been pushing for many of these improvements since at least 2023 and spent much of the last year preparing to shape the federal tax provisions.
Corn growers from across the country will arrive in Washington, D.C., in less than two weeks to continue advancing other priorities, including year-round e15 and a mini farm bill, as additional legislative opportunities arise throughout the rest of this congress.
