The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has announced that one of its own, Troy Armstrong, has been selected to join the Kansas Incident Support Program, a statewide initiative supporting public safety operations during emergencies and disasters. Armstrong’s selection follows the recent approval of his application by the Kansas Division of Emergency Management, under the Adjutant General’s Department. The program brings together trained professionals from across the state to support local jurisdictions before, during and after emergencies. As part of this elite team, Armstrong may also deploy to other states under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact.
Armstrong brings with him extensive experience in emergency response, currently serving as an EMS Advisor for the Kansas Major Emergency Response Group. He’s also an active member of the Missouri Disaster Medical Assistance Team and the Missouri Mortuary Operations Response Team. Sheriff Wes McClain expressed strong support for Armstrong’s appointment, saying “it’s a tremendous recognition of Troy’s professionalism and dedication”.
